Workshops & Events
An.Other Collective is a creative think tank bringing together multidisciplinary designers, artists and creatives. Fostering an authentic sense of community centring the intersections of faith, culture and identity, we aim to provide space for dialogue through collaborative processes.
As an active member of An.Other Collective I've been involved in the planning and facilitating of a number of workshops and events! Our collective is split between a Melbourne team and Sydney team and as a whole we have organised and executed various events in the past year from cooking workshops to henna gatherings. Below are the ones I've been most involved in in terms of planning, marketing and facilitating.

Art & About |Back to Basics
Art & About is a community hangout held quarterly, hosted by An.Other Collective. The aim is to foster a playful space for creative folk to meet new pals, join various workshops and share ideas. Our very first one was held in November of 2022.

Earthquake Relief Fundraiser for Turkey & Syria
"Please join us for a wholesome afternoon celebrating community and culture, as we raise funds to support those affected by the recent earthquakes in 𝙏ü𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙮𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙧𝙞𝙖.
On February 6th 2023, 𝙏ü𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙮𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙧𝙞𝙖 were struck by a catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake, and subsequent aftershocks. An estimated 50,000 people lost their lives and millions are permanently displaced. Three months on, our hearts are still heavy, and it is important that we continue to campaign and raise awareness for the devastations that have taken place in 𝙏ü𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙮𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙧𝙞𝙖.
SUNDAY 28th MAY, we’re cooking up a stunning lunch. BBQ supervised by our babas, with fresh salads and dips made by our mamas. Get on it! Some of our dear friends within the community will be entertaining us - we have live Anatolian folk music, DJs from the region @berkaymete@firasmassouh , contemporary henna designs by @an.othercollective, backgammon with the friendly @brunswick.ses.bes , and belly dancing performance by @lailashouha"

Henna & Shay
In June of 2023 we held a Eid al-Adha henna event! Inspired by traditional techniques and contemporary forms, and with the belief that contemporary henna designs offer a way to express creativity, individuality, and personal style, our collective carefully designed and curated a set of designs with a modern twist for folks who popped by to choose from.
A special shout out to Dewi Cooke and The Social Studio team at Collingwood Yards for opening up their workshop space and allowing our little henna-fest to be held there!
